Spring is here in full force at the farm! Lilacs are blooming, robins are sneaking worms from our garden beds and the bees are busy gathering pollen.
This was a tough, long winter so we feel lucky that both of our hives survived. One is healthy enough that we have already added a honey super. Cheers to a spring honey flow!
Sadly, Scituate, our Rhode Island Red, is no longer part of our flock. She passed peacefully, in her coop. Scituate is survived by five sisters: Big Mama, Little Mama, Kentucky, Pot Pie and Jail Bird.
The beds are ready for planting, with compost from The Compost Plant.
